Loads Analysis

We provide a basic loads engineering solution. Certification level loads for traditional part 23 aircraft configurations and preliminary loads work for advanced aircraft prototypes. Our knowledge of loads engineering plays an important part in our holistic approach to aircraft design and development.

Structures Design

Composite and metallic subassemblies, CNC machinings, weldments or sheet metal fabrications. CAD major sub-assembly work or drawing production to strict manufacturing deadlines. We know what is important to you to make sure you meet your scheduled milestones.

Mechanical Systems Design

We design and analyse moving structures – we develop all aspects of landing gear, flight controls and door mechanisms. From loads development to preliminary kinematic models, stress analysis, fatigue assessments, weight optimization, CAD models and detail drawings.

Composite M&P, Design and Analysis

Abbott Aerospace has had significant involvement in many composite aircraft development and modification programs. Glass fiber, carbon fiber, prepreg, wet laminate, infusion. We have taken multiple composite aircraft designs from initial layout to first flight.

Engineering Methods

We distribute our in-house authored engineering text book and spreadsheet methods globally and create company stress manuals for international clients. We have specialist knowledge of NACA, NASA, ARC and other public domain resources. Abbott Aerospace has developed analysis methods for a global leader in the provision of online analysis solutions.

Abbott Aerospace Inc. was founded in Ontario Canada in 2008 by Richard Abbott, helping modification programs and aircraft startups with composite structures development. As we grew we added new competencies and experience and now we cover clean sheet configuration to certification management of composite and metallic structures, mechanical systems, landing gear and loads engineering.

In 2014 the free, online Abbott Aerospace Technical Library was launched, bringing together our PDF reference library of Technical Papers & Reports, analysis spreadsheets for Microsoft Excel, Excel add-ins, Market Information and Analysis, and other references and tools we have created or discovered. Since then the library has amassed more than 17,000 documents with more than 1.7 million downloads and growing.

In 2015 the company relocated to Georgetown, Cayman Islands becoming Abbott Aerospace SEZC Ltd. and continued to help aerospace companies create, modify, and fly unique and exciting aircraft.

In 2020 Abbott Aerospace moved back to Canada, relocating in Collingwood, Ontario and became Abbott Aerospace Canada Ltd.

In 2023 we relocated again to the UK and currently operate in Budleigh Salterton on the south coast of England.

We train and mentor our clients’ in-house engineering teams. We also help our clients create internal methods, processes and entire engineering systems – all supporting the goal of type certification, production certification and a safe and economical aircraft product.

Within each discipline we have broad knowledge and operate from kit aircraft to part 25 commercial aircraft. We have also gained experience of unique platforms such as powered parachutes, wing in ground effect vehicles, supersonic transport aircraft and semi dirigible flying wings.
