This week I was doing background literature searches for bolt pull through strength in composite plates. I have done this a few times in the past looking for public domain reference strengths and must have missed this gem. NASA-TM-87603 contains test results and conclusions for testing of a 3/16in diameter composite huck fastener in a wide variety of laminates. The strength values in this report do look relatively high compared to my experience of testing pull through strengths in composite plates so I would be concerned by any low margins of safety that I generated using these figures.
